/v1/copilot/ask/v1/copilot/brand-visibility/v1/copilot/marketsAn answer string is not enough to track AI search. ScrapeBadger returns the evidence behind Copilot’s answer.
Answers come from Copilot Search in Bing, Microsoft’s public Copilot answer engine, grounded in live Bing results — so you see what a real user sees, including the sources Copilot cited. No Microsoft account, no Azure key, no per-token bill.
Every citation carries start_index, end_index, and matched_text — the exact substring of the answer that source supports — plus url, title, snippet, domain, and site_name.
search_results lists the web results Copilot read, with a cited flag on each, next to citations which holds only what the answer referenced. search_queries returns the search phrases Copilot rewrote your prompt into, when it reports them.
Set country and the ask egresses from that country and answers in its Bing market (JP → ja-JP), or pick a market directly. 30 curated markets, any language-COUNTRY code accepted, and strict_country never answers from elsewhere.
One call returns mention count, first position, share of voice against named competitors, whether your domain was cited, and its citation rank — AEO/GEO tracking for Microsoft Copilot from the same API.
Credits are only deducted for successful responses. Blocked, rate-limited, and upstream errors — and strict_country misses — are never billed. PAYG credits never expire.
You only pay for successful responses — blocked, rate-limited, and upstream errors are always free. PAYG credits never expire; volume subscription tiers reduce per-credit cost further.

The scrapebadger Node.js library wraps the Copilot API with typed methods. Install with npm install scrapebadger, then start asking Copilot in a few lines of code.
import ScrapeBadger from 'scrapebadger'
const client = new ScrapeBadger({
apiKey: 'sb_live_...'
})
// Ask Microsoft Copilot (15-25s for a fresh answer)
const res = await client.copilot.ask({
prompt: 'Best web scraping APIs in 2026?',
country: 'GB', // egress from the UK, answer in en-GB
})
console.log(res.answer)
console.log(res.cached, res.market, res.citationCount)
// Which sentence does each source back?
for (const c of res.citations) {
console.log(c.domain, c.startIndex, c.endIndex)
}
// How visible is your brand in that answer?
const vis = await client.copilot.brandVisibility({
prompt: 'Best web scraping APIs in 2026?',
brand: 'ScrapeBadger',
domain: 'scrapebadger.com',
competitors: ['Bright Data', 'ScrapingBee'],
})
console.log(vis.mentioned, vis.shareOfVoicePct, vis.citationRank)Common questions about the Copilot Scraper API — Node.js, Python, or REST.
The /ask endpoint returns the prompt, the answer as plain text and markdown, citations (url, title, snippet, domain, site_name, ref_index, plus start_index/end_index/matched_text pointing into the answer), search_results with a cited flag on each, source_domains, search_queries, web_search_triggered, truncated, cached, conversation_id, market, country, answer_length, citation_count, latency_ms, created_utc, and created_at.
Microsoft Copilot as served by Copilot Search in Bing (bing.com/copilotsearch), Microsoft’s public Copilot answer engine. Requests are anonymous — no Microsoft account and no Azure or Copilot API key is involved on either side.
A fresh answer typically takes 15–25 seconds, because Copilot searches Bing and composes the answer live. When Copilot serves its own recent cached answer for the same prompt it comes back in under a second, flagged cached: true — search_results then holds the cited sources only. /markets returns immediately. Size client timeouts to at least 60 seconds.
Yes. Pass country (ISO-3166 alpha-2) and the ask egresses from that country and, unless you set market, answers in that country’s Bing market — JP answers in ja-JP. Pass market (for example en-GB) to choose the market directly; it defaults to en-US. Add strict_country=true to never answer from another country: if none answers in time the call fails with 503 country_unavailable and is not billed. /markets lists the 30 curated markets.
Call /brand-visibility with a prompt, your brand name, and optionally your domain, aliases, and competitors (comma-separated). You get back mention count, first position, share of voice against the competitors you named, whether your domain was cited and its citation rank, a per-competitor breakdown, and an excerpt of the answer around the first mention — alongside the answer and its citations.
Per-request credit costs are listed above. For higher monthly volume, subscription tiers reduce the per-credit rate substantially. All Copilot endpoints — ask, brand visibility, and markets — included on every plan.
