Great value, but the Lens API can be slow

We use several ScrapeBadger APIs: Google Lens searches on user photos in our app backend, and Google and Bing autocomplete for keyword research. The price is great: prepaid credits that never expire, and failed calls cost nothing. When a Lens search works, you get around 60 results with prices and sources. The weak spot is Lens reliability. Many searches took 15-20 seconds or more, and a lot of them failed with an "image_url_unreachable" error even though the image was online. In one test, only 11 of 41 photos returned results, so we now keep Lens as a backup provider. Overall good value, and we still use it a lot.

This platform will facilitate the use of network analysis in an upcoming academic study. The platform is very useful for avoiding the high cost of the Twitter/X API.

It's easy to use, it's fast, and the price is not that high. Sometimes, with certain searches, it takes a lot longer than usual — if the average is around 6s, some requests take more than 20s. Aside from that, I think it's really good value.

Reliable and Affordable for Academic Data Collection

I used ScrapeBadger for a social science research project where I needed to collect data from X systematically over specific time periods. So far, it has worked quite well for what I needed. The advanced_search API was pretty straightforward to work with. The documentation is clear, the cursor-based pagination is predictable, and I like that the credit system is easy to understand. The PAYG credits also don't expire, which is useful for research projects where you may not need to run everything at once. There's also a free endpoint to check your credit balance, so you don't have to spend credits just to see how much you have left. I ended up building my own pipeline around the API, processing the data in fixed time chunks and adding retry logic. I've left it running unattended for fairly long periods without major issues. Overall, I'd say ScrapeBadger has been a reliable option for structured social media data collection, especially for academic research. Another advantage for me is the price. Compared with some of the alternatives I looked at, it seems quite affordable for the amount of data you can collect.

Does what it’s supposed to do

We’ve tried a few scraping tools before and most of them break pretty often or require a lot of work to keep things running. ScrapeBadger has been a lot more stable in comparison. We mainly use it to find leads and monitor conversations in our niche, and it’s been pretty effective for that. Overall, it just does what it’s supposed to do without too much hassle, which is honestly what we were looking for.
