Frequently Asked Questions
Do credits expire?
PAYG credits do not expire: buy once, use whenever. Subscription credits refresh at the start of each billing period; unused subscription credits do not carry over unless rollover is explicitly enabled on the plan. The one exception is a mid-cycle upgrade: the new plan's full allowance is added on top of the credits you still have, so nothing is lost.
Are failed requests charged?
No. Failed requests (blocks, timeouts, errors, or empty responses) are never charged. Credits only deduct when ScrapeBadger returns a successful response with real data. This applies to every plan, including PAYG.
What is included in the 1,000 free credits?
Free credits include full access to every active scraper, anti-bot bypass (Cloudflare, DataDome, Akamai, Imperva, PerimeterX, Kasada), JavaScript rendering, and residential proxies, no credit card required to claim them.
What APIs and features are available on every plan?
Every plan, including PAYG, gets the full ScrapeBadger product with no feature tiers: all active scrapers (new ones launch on every plan immediately), anti-bot bypass for all 6 systems, residential proxies in 150+ countries, JS rendering with stealth browser, and the MCP Server for AI agents. The only differences between plans are credit volume, per-credit rate, and rate limits.
What is the difference between PAYG and a subscription?
Pay As You Go is a prepaid wallet: you top up from $10 at $0.15 per 1,000 credits and use them at your own pace (they do not expire). Subscriptions are monthly or annual plans (Starter, Growth, Pro, Scale) that include a fixed monthly credit allowance at a heavily discounted rate, plus higher request-per-minute limits.
Can I switch plans or cancel?
Yes: upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from your billing dashboard. Upgrades take effect immediately and restart your billing cycle that day — you pay the full new plan price, and get the full new credit allowance on top of whatever credits you have left, so the unused part of your current plan carries over as credits. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. There are no lock-in contracts and no cancellation fees.
How are credits calculated?
Each API endpoint has a base cost and a per-item cost. Simple lookups typically cost 1-2 credits; search/listing endpoints cost 2-3 credits plus 0.1 credit per returned item. Exact costs are documented per endpoint in the API reference.
Is there an enterprise plan?
Yes. If 13M credits/month on Scale isn't enough, contact support@scrapebadger.com for a custom contract with dedicated proxy pools, higher rate tiers, and SLA.
Can I get a refund?
All purchases are final and non-refundable as a general rule. We may consider discretionary refunds for accidental purchases (within 7 days, no credits used), verified extended outages (>48h), or established customer goodwill. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Subscriptions are paid via Stripe (cards and other Stripe-supported methods). Pay As You Go top-ups can be paid via Stripe or crypto (via CoinGate).
