Search Ad Creatives

Search Google Ads Transparency Center creatives by advertiser ID or verified domain.

Retrieve creative IDs, advertiser names, target domains, formats, media URLs, available preview HTML, and first- and last-shown dates. Filter by region, creative format, or an overlapping date window, then page through the results.

Format and date filters apply to each returned page. The platform and political parameters do not filter results; the filters_applied object reports which filters were applied.

Illustrative request and response using placeholder advertiser data. Replace example.com with a verified advertiser domain when testing.

Parameters

What Can You Build With the Google Ads Transparency API?

Competitor creative monitoring

Track the creatives an advertiser runs by domain or advertiser ID. Store scheduled snapshots of creative IDs, formats, media, and run dates to identify newly observed ads and changes in messaging. Build review queues and competitive reports from the data your application collects.

Search AdvertisersSearch Ad CreativesGet Ad Creative

Creative libraries and campaign research

Build a searchable library of text, image, and video creatives with links to their Transparency Center records. Inspect rendered size variations and run dates to compare campaign assets, organise examples, and give creative teams a reference for further research.

Search Ad CreativesGet Ad Creative

Brand protection and look-alike discovery

Use fuzzy advertiser searches to surface misspelled names and look-alike domains, including advertisers operating under unrelated names. Review the returned similarity scores, domains, and creatives to investigate possible impersonation. A similar name or domain is a review signal, not proof of misuse.

Search AdvertisersSearch Ad CreativesGet Ad Creative

Political advertising disclosure dashboards

Compare Google's disclosed political-ad spend across selected regions and date windows. Visualise daily spend and spend share by creative format, and link the results to advertiser records. Keep missing disclosures separate from zero spend in your reporting.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about the Ads Transparency API.

What data can I retrieve with the Google Ads Transparency API?

You can retrieve advertiser matches, creative IDs, advertiser names, target domains, text/image/video formats, media URLs, preview HTML where available, rendered size variations, and run dates. Political advertisers may also have disclosed regional spend, ad counts, format mix, and daily spend data. Fields depend on the endpoint and Google's available data.

Can I search ads by brand name or keyword?

Search Ad Creatives matches verified advertiser domains, such as nike.com, rather than brand names or keywords in ad copy. For a brand name, use Search Advertisers first, then pass a populated advertiser_id to Search Ad Creatives. Standard advertiser-name matching has no typo tolerance; use fuzzy=true when researching misspellings or look-alike names and domains.

Which filters does creative search actually apply?

Region, advertiser ID, and domain query are applied upstream. Format and date filters apply to the returned page; dates match creatives whose run dates overlap your window. The platform and political parameters are validated but do not filter results. Check filters_applied in the response to see which filters were honoured.

Can I retrieve all results with pagination?

Creative search returns up to 100 results per page. Pass next_page_token as cursor until it is null, even if a filtered page has fewer results than requested. Advertiser search returns up to 3,000 advertiser rows in one call; those rows do not paginate. Its cursor pages domain rows only and cannot be combined with fuzzy=true.

Does the API return competitor spend, clicks, or conversions?

The documented endpoints do not expose general commercial-ad spend, clicks, conversions, or ROAS. Get Advertiser returns Google's available political-ad spend disclosure for a region and date window. No disclosure returns 404, not zero spend. The optional political data on Get Ad Creative is also advertiser-level disclosure, not that creative's individual spend.

How can I find misspelled or look-alike advertisers?

Set fuzzy=true on Search Advertisers. It searches query variants, resolves matching look-alike domains where possible, and ranks results by similarity. Review returned domains, advertiser IDs, and matched_query values before drawing conclusions. Some domain rows have no advertiser ID. Fuzzy requests cost 45 credits; standard advertiser searches cost 15. Empty results are not billed.

Can I search ads in different countries?

Yes. On Search Ad Creatives, region selects where an ad was served; use a two-letter country code or anywhere. On Search Advertisers, country filters advertiser registration country, while region only echoes in the response. Domain rows are not filtered by country. Get Advertiser disclosures require a specific region, and anywhere falls back to US.

How do I authenticate, and can I test the API for free?

Send your ScrapeBadger API key in the X-API-Key header with each GET request. New accounts receive 1,000 free credits with no credit card required. Creative search costs 25 credits; creative detail costs 15, standard advertiser search 15, and advertiser disclosure 15. Fuzzy advertiser search costs 45. The X-Credits-Used response header reports the credits used by a request.
